You need a positive attitude, accept

You need a positive attitude, accept that you will make mistakes, accept that it wont happen by tomorrow and most importantly be willing to listen and learn.

Whatever your goals are, at some point along the way it will involve money ? whether your goal is to be the next Bill Gates or Warren Buffet or simply to help the helpless you still need money (via profit or donation). I?ve come across two relatively straightforward methods of helping to achieve that goal, they are profiting from the Foreign Exchange Market and Internet Marketing. Since both of these are done online its brilliant because you can do both at the same time!

I have been trading foreign exchange for a while and just made the leap into trading for a living. I was able to do this by learning strategies online. While doing all the research on this I stumbled upon a great little course about internet marketing, the biggest plus for me was that it was free!!! Someone willing to teach what they already know ? most importantly something I don?t have the knowledge or skills of yet.

Without going into too much detail the things being taught are amazing – having the right mindset, the types of products/services you could sell/market online, being an affiliate, processing of payments, getting traffic to your sites, niche markets and how to create, manage and host a website and e-book creation to name a few.

Former students sue barber college

0 Comments | Maryland Gazette, Jul 28, 2010 | by SCOTT DAUGHERTY

Students who paid $16,300 to a Glen Burnie cosmetology school to learn how to cut hair were instead required to clean toilets, solicit new customers and peddle the school’s styling products, according to two class action lawsuits filed in county Circuit Court.

In all, seven former students are suing the Fila Academy and its owner, Larry Fila Jr of Linthicum. They claim officials with the academy – which previously purported an association with Paul Mitchell – lied about how the school’s various programs on barbering, nail technology and skin care therapy would eventually make them as much money as “doctors and lawyers.”

In reality, they claim, the administrators wanted to “collect the federal and other funds and then rid themselves of the students.”

Fila and his attorney, Stephen Thienel, did not return calls for comment about the lawsuits, which seeks a total of $27 million in compensatory and $40 million in punitive damages. In court papers, Fila has denied any wrongdoing.

Allan Steinhorn and George Hermina, the attorneys who filed both lawsuits on behalf of the students, and officials with Paul Mitchell also did not return calls.

According to the lawsuits – which claim among other things fraud, deceptive trade practices and breach of contract – the academy lied about being associated with Paul Mitchell, having acceptance standards, and even the extent to which students would be required to pay the tuition.

The academy “falsely informed plaintiffs that they need only sign financial aid forms and they would not need worry about paying funds,” a lawsuit said, noting several students were surprised when they started getting bills.

The academy also did not tell students upon their registration they would need to buy their own equipment, meet sales quotas to stay enrolled or bring in their own clients to receive hands-on training, a lawsuit said. Students who did not have any clients on which to work were asked to clean toilets or perform other “demeaning tasks.”

When students ran afoul of teachers, the academy did not abide by a “progressive discipline” policy laid out in its catalogue, a lawsuit said. While a student was supposed to received six warnings before being dismissed, some students were kicked out after a first infraction.

The lawsuits highlighted incidents in which the school enrolled a 16-year-old girl and then dismissed her for being “immature.” She was charged 60-percent of her total tuition bill Another student – a single mother – was kicked her out when she missed a day of work to stay home with her sick child

PE, VC flow seen at $17bn [India Business]

0 Comments | Times of India, The, Jul 21, 2010 | by Bagchi, Aaheli

MUMBAI: The private equity (PE) and venture capital (VC) flows are estimated to touch $17 billion this year, and are projected to grow at 25-50% by 2012.

According to the latest report by Bain & Company on the PE industry, there would be a 20% surge in buyouts, despite the continuing prohibition on the use of leverage. This growth has come amid strict government regulations, which continue to impose limitations on PE and VC investors’ freedom to manoeuvre effectively. Most PE investments have been limited to passive minority holdings rather than taking on the active hands-on role.

The CII says if India meets the challenges of creating a more hospitable environment for PE investment, private equity has the potential to fund up to $100 billion over the next three years.

PEs and VCs have acquired a critical mass during the last five years (2004-2009), investing nearly $50 billion in more than 1,400 Indian businesses, including nearly one-third of what are now India’s 500 largest enterprises

Bluepoint Solutions, a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner and a provider of remote deposit capture, image-based item processing and enterprise content management software technology for financial institutions, has completed an in-depth white paper entitled In- house Item Processing: A Closer Look at the Benefits and Costs.

“Many of our credit union customers have been asking us about moving their item processing in-house,” said Hal Tilbury, founder and CEO of Bluepoint Solutions, in a release. “They all have the same questions. ‘How much does it cost? Will I need additional staff? What are the steps involved? How will it impact my members? What value does a third party processor provide?’ We conducted a three-month study to analyze all aspects of an in-house solution and have compiled the results into this white paper. One of the most significant findings of this study is that many of the reasons for outsourcing item processing are no longer valid. In fact, the findings of the study instead suggest there are substantial benefits to move item processing in-house.”

But if you choose a wood that is specifically meant for use outdoors and that which is treated to prevent infestation by pests will help to ensure that your decks will last for many seasons to come.

When you have chosen your wood and the deck has been built the most important thing you can do for your new addition to your home is treat it with the respect it is due. Firstly you will need to seal it appropriately, check for any weak spots that you can see, sand out any rough spots etc. But if you have chosen a hybrid material then go with the care instructions that have been provided by the manufacturer. Even once your decking has been in place for sometime then carry out regular maintenance to help ensure that the decking stays in shape. Regularly clean the deck and remove any debris and ensure that you get into any cracks that you find.

Kenny’s donation from Nama builder

0 Comments | Mail on Sunday (London, England), The, July 18, 2010

Byline: Philip Ryan

FINE GAEL leader Enda Kenny’s judgment as wouldbe taoiseach was again called into question last night as it emerged that he and his party accepted [euro]1,500 from one of the top 10 developers going into Nama.

Michael O’Flynn, the managing director of O’Flynn Construction, which went into Nama with some [euro]1bn in loans, attended a Fine Gael fundraising party at the exclusive K Club last week.

He sponsored a [euro]1,500 ‘fourball’ at the event, and teed off for a round of golf behind Mr Kenny and Fine Gael’s environment spokesman Phil Hogan. Mr O’Flynn arrived in a Mercedes S350, worth [euro]76,000 new.

Mr O’Flynn’s company also paid an undisclosed sum to sponsor the 18th hole at the K Club. The choice of the venue, which is owned by Gerry Gannon, another of the top 10 Nama developers and a member of the Anglo Irish Bank ‘Golden Circle’, will also raise eyebrows.

While it is not clear what the financial position of O’Flynn Construction is, accepting money from such a controversial figure is likely to provoke renewed questions about Mr Kenny’s judgment as leader.

Mr Kenny has criticised the cosy relationship of developers and politicians. In January 2009 he said: ‘It is about time that the Taoiseach, as leader of the Government, ensures it stops dancing to the tune of developers.’ Adding to the pressure on Mr Kenny is an interview with rebel TD Brian Hayes in today’s Irish Mail on Sunday

By admin July 29th, 2010, under Uncategorized

Preferably in a paper diary or digital organiser that you can take everywhere. This is the most effective way to get things done, plan your work and your life.

4. Get in the habit of using a To Do list every day. At the end of each day, make a list of items to complete the following day. This helps you put closure on the day so you don?t leave worried about forgetting the tasks that await you tomorrow.

5. Clean out the Clutter. You will save yourself heaps of time, energy and money if you clear out your work and home environment?paperwork, books, old equipment etc. You’ll be able to find things, save money because you won’t have to buy what you already have hidden somewhere, plus you’ll be less stressed.

6. Use the Right Tools. It’s no good having the latest whiz-bang computer when the desk that you sit at is too small to accommodate it, or the chair has poor back support, or the lighting is dull causing you eyestrain and fatigue.
